About EvaKool Dual Zone Fridges

A dual zone fridge freezer has two compartments in one cabinet, so cold drinks and frozen food travel together. EvaKool's dual zone range covers the Down Under II from 50L to 95L and the handmade Infinity RF fibreglass fridge freezers from 47L to 110L, all made in Australia with Secop compressors.

EvaKool Dual Zone Fridge Freezers

EvaKool's dual zone fridge freezers let you run a fridge and a freezer from one cabinet. The 80L and 95L Down Under II have twin lids and two independently controlled zones. The 50L and 65L use a removable divider, so you can run them as one zone or two, and every Down Under II can switch one side off to save power.

The Infinity RF fibreglass fridge freezers run from 47L to 110L and are handmade by EvaKool, a popular choice for boats and fishing.

What is a dual zone fridge freezer?

It has two compartments, each set to its own temperature. Run one side as a fridge for drinks and fresh food and the other as a freezer for meat and ice. On the 80L and 95L Down Under II, each zone has its own lid.

Can I run a dual zone fridge as one zone?

Yes. On the 50L and 65L Down Under II, the divider comes out, so the whole cabinet runs as one zone. Every Down Under II can also switch one side off, which saves power on shorter trips.

What size dual zone fridge do I need?

47L to 65L suits a couple or a short trip. 80L to 110L suits a family or a longer trip away from shops. Check the height and footprint against your vehicle or van, and allow about 30mm more for a fridge slide.

How much power does a dual zone fridge use?

It depends on the outside temperature, how often you open the lids, how cold you set each zone and whether both zones are running. EvaKool lists 1.8 to 2.2 A/hr for the Down Under II, which has Eco and Max compressor speeds and 3-level battery protection.

Should I choose the Down Under II or the Infinity RF?

The Down Under II has a metal cabinet, a Bluetooth app, a 12/240V adaptor and tie down points on the cabinet. The Infinity RF has a handmade fibreglass cabinet that resists rust and corrosion, and keeps running on angles up to 30 degrees. Both use Secop compressors and are made in Australia.
