About Polish and Wax

Polish and wax do two different jobs. Polish removes fine scratches, swirl marks and oxidation to bring back the shine, while wax adds a protective layer over the top. This range also includes paint cleaners to prepare the surface first.

Start with a clean car from our wash and exterior cleaning range, then polish if needed and finish with wax. Not sure what your paint needs? Give us a call on 02 9413 3166.

Polish and Wax FAQs

What's the difference between car polish and wax?

Polish removes a fine layer of the surface to smooth out light scratches, swirls and oxidation. Wax adds a protective layer on top. Polish first to correct the paint, then wax to protect it.

How do I polish a car?

Wash and dry the car first. Work one small panel at a time with a polish and a clean applicator or machine polisher, buff off the residue with a microfibre cloth, then protect the paint with wax or sealant.

How often should I wax my car?

It depends on the product and the conditions. Many waxes last a few weeks to a few months. When water stops beading on the paint, it's time to reapply.

Is a ceramic coating worth it?

A ceramic coating offers longer lasting protection and makes the car easier to clean. It needs the paint to be properly cleaned and corrected first, so preparation is important.

Can polish remove scratches?

Polish can remove or reduce light scratches and swirl marks in the clear coat. Deeper scratches that catch your fingernail usually need professional repair.
