About Air Filters

This range covers two different filters. The engine air filter keeps dust and dirt out of your engine, which matters most for 4WDs on dusty roads. The cabin air filter, usually behind the glovebox, cleans the air coming through your vents for the people inside.

Select your vehicle at the top of the page to see filters that fit. Both are worth replacing at service time, along with your oil filter. If you're not sure where yours is or which one you need, give us a call on 02 9413 3166.

Air Filters FAQs

How often should I change my air filter?

Check it at every service and replace it according to your vehicle's schedule. In dusty conditions, such as on dirt roads or off road, it may need replacing much sooner.

What does a cabin air filter do?

A cabin air filter cleans the air coming into the car through the air conditioning and heating system. It traps dust, pollen and other particles before they reach you and your passengers.

How often should I change my cabin air filter?

Many manufacturers recommend replacing it about once a year or at a set kilometre interval. Replace it sooner if airflow is weak, the windows fog easily, or there's a musty smell.

What are the signs of a dirty air filter?

A visibly dirty or blocked filter, reduced performance, higher fuel use or a rough idle can all point to a dirty engine air filter. Hold it up to the light: if light barely passes through, it's time to replace it.

Can I clean and reuse an air filter?

Standard paper air filters are designed to be replaced, not washed. Some aftermarket filters are washable and are made to be cleaned and re oiled following their maker's instructions.
