Service Parts FAQs

Can I service my own car?

Yes, many basic service jobs such as changing the oil, oil filter, air filter and wiper blades can be done at home with basic tools. Follow your vehicle's service schedule and workshop manual, use the right parts and fluids, and dispose of old oil properly.

Will servicing my own car void my new car warranty?

The ACCC says a new car warranty can't be voided just because the car wasn't serviced by the dealer, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses suitable parts and fluids. Keep receipts and a record of what was done.

How do I find the right service parts for my car?

Select your vehicle at the top of the page to see parts listed for it, then check the fitment details on each listing. Engine codes and model years can change which filter fits. If you're not sure, give us a call on 02 9413 3166 with your make, model and year.

What parts are replaced at a standard service?

A standard service usually includes engine oil and an oil filter, and often an air filter. Depending on the vehicle and kilometres, it may also include a fuel filter, cabin filter, spark plugs, coolant or other fluids. Check your service schedule.

How often should my car be serviced?

Follow the interval in your vehicle's service schedule, usually set by kilometres or months, whichever comes first. Towing, short trips, dusty roads and heavy loads count as severe use and may need more frequent servicing.
