About EvaKool Down Under Series

The EvaKool Down Under II is a dual zone 12V fridge freezer made in Burpengary East, Queensland. Each side runs at its own temperature, from +10°C down to -18°C, so drinks stay cold and meat stays frozen on the same trip. It comes in four sizes, from 50L to 95L, each with a Secop compressor and a 12/240V adaptor in the box.

EvaKool Down Under II Dual Zone Fridge Freezers

The Down Under II is EvaKool's dual zone fridge freezer for long 4WD trips, touring and caravan travel. It's made in Burpengary East, Queensland, around a Secop compressor, in 50L, 65L, 80L and 95L sizes.

Each zone has its own temperature, so one side can be a fridge and the other a freezer. EvaKool lists Eco and Max compressor modes, 3-level battery protection and a Bluetooth app, so you can check both zones from your phone.

The 12/240V adaptor in the box means it runs off your vehicle's 12V or 24V system on the road, and off mains power at home or at a powered site.

EvaKool Down Under Series FAQs

What does dual zone mean?

The fridge has two compartments, each with its own temperature setting. Run one as a fridge and one as a freezer, or both as fridges.

Can I run it on 240V at home or at a powered site?

Yes. EvaKool supplies every Down Under II with a 12/240V adaptor, an Anderson to Anderson lead and an Anderson to cig adaptor.

How much power does it use?

EvaKool lists 1.8 to 2.2 A/hr depending on size. That's averaged over 24 hours at 32°C, with one zone at 2°C and the other at -16°C.

Which size will fit my vehicle or van?

The 50L and 65L share a 786 × 448mm footprint. The 80L and 95L share a 967 × 530mm footprint, which EvaKool says fits most caravan fridge slides. Measure your space, including the height you need to open the lid, or give us a call on 02 9413 3166.

What warranty comes with it?

EvaKool lists 5 years on the fridge freezer and 7 years on the Secop compressor.
