Slotted Brake Rotors: TRW's New Range Is In
TRW's new slotted brake disc range has landed, and it's already in our TRW range. It's built for heavy duty performance, towing, load carrying, off road touring and commercial use, the exact conditions that wear out a standard rotor fastest.
What a slotted rotor actually does
A slotted rotor has a series of grooves machined into the braking surface. Those slots give brake dust and gas somewhere to go instead of building up between the pad and the rotor, which helps keep the pad making full, even contact under hard or repeated braking. It's a genuine upgrade over a standard rotor for anyone towing, doing spirited driving, or just wanting a bit more margin in hot conditions, not something invented to look aggressive.
Why TRW entering this space matters
TRW's reputation is built on OE supply, brake pads and steering components that vehicle manufacturers already trust before they ever reach the aftermarket. A slotted rotor range from a brand with that background is a different proposition to a cheap aftermarket slotted rotor with no OE pedigree behind it.
