About Clutch Kits

A clutch kit gives you the main wear parts in one box, so everything is replaced together and works as a matched set. Kits typically include the friction plate, pressure plate and release bearing, and some also include a spigot bearing or alignment tool. Check each listing for exactly what's included.

We stock clutch kits from EXEDY, Australian Clutch Services and Clutch Pro. Select your vehicle at the top of the page to see kits that fit. It's worth checking your flywheel while the gearbox is out. If you tow, carry heavy loads or have modified your vehicle, call us on 02 9413 3166 and we'll help you choose the right kit.

Clutch Kits FAQs

What's included in a clutch kit?

Most clutch kits include a friction plate, a pressure plate and a release bearing. Many also include a spigot or pilot bearing and an alignment tool. Some include a flywheel or concentric slave cylinder. Check the listing to see exactly what's in the kit.

Should I replace the whole clutch kit or just the plate?

In most cases, replace the full kit. Getting to the clutch takes a lot of labour, so fitting a new pressure plate and bearing at the same time avoids paying for that labour twice if an old part fails later.

What is a heavy duty clutch?

A heavy duty clutch has higher clamping force and often a tougher friction material, so it handles more torque, towing and heavy loads. The trade off can be a heavier pedal or a sharper engagement. It's popular for 4WDs, towing and modified engines.

What's the difference between organic and ceramic clutches?

Organic clutches engage smoothly and suit everyday driving. Ceramic or cerametallic clutches handle more heat and torque, but engage more abruptly. For towing or modified vehicles, a heavier duty material may suit better.

Do I need to replace the flywheel with a new clutch?

Not always. A single mass flywheel in good condition can often be machined and reused. A worn or damaged flywheel, or a worn dual mass flywheel, usually needs replacing. Have it checked while the clutch is out.
